It can be painful to constantly hunt for where props have spawned and move them to where they need to be (espically if they have already been rotated slighty and the movement controls become more convoluted).
Once you enter “attach” mode, you should have the option to jump the prop to the targeted joint (e.g. by holding down shift when you click) and then you can make smaller adjustments from there.
