If I grab a corner handle when scaling an object, I modify it along two axes, without any constraints. Other software gives the option of holding e.g. Shift to lock the scaling to the same rate on both axes (thus keeping a square perfectly square, etc.).
The black cubes on the ends of the gizmo modifies uniformly on all 3 axis. The coloured squares modify along the two adjacent axis, and then the coloured cubes modify along a single axis.
That’s true, but if I want to uniformly scale just two axes, the current toolset only allows that by scaling all three, then scaling the undesired axis. That can create an intermediate state where the prop is scaled to unwieldy dimensions.
See the attached image. Thise squares allow you to scale on 2 axis at the same time while leaving the third axis alone.
Sorry, I think I’m explaining myself poorly.
Scale any one axis: RGB handles
Scale any two axes: CMY handles
Scale all three axes proportionally: black handles
Scale just two axes proportionally:
Ah, I understand what you mean. Lemme take a looksee at this in the new year :)
