Parenting#40

Parent a prop to a part of a character, such as a gun to a hand, or a hat to a head.

One way you could make this easier for you would be to put just a few parenting reference points in a model. Say, one in each hand, one for the back, one for the waist. That would keep you from having to do parenting for each separate joint.

Not sure if you could do a prop like a pair of wings that also could be posed. That would be cool though.

I’ve just released an update that allows this. You can parent a prop to any joint by tap-and-hold on the prop, then selecting a joint 🥳

Thanks for this. I just tried it out and it’s pretty slick! Seems to work very well. This is a huge addition.

One observation: some of the props included here have their pivot points way off from the model, which could produce strange results when parented. Ideally an object should have its pivot point set where it is going to be held (a gun should have its pivot point at the stock for example).

Slowly working my way through getting all of the pivot points and scale sorted out ;)

Worth mentioning a saved scene does not save the parenting relationships correctly - they seem to jump around the scene when I open it again, and have to be re-assigned.

I just pushed an update that should solve the jumping issue on saving. Please let me know if you still experience it
